Not every calculator needs the same amount of explanation. A tip or age calculator should feel almost instant, because users usually arrive with a clear short task and want a fast answer.
A loan, tax, or retirement calculator is different. Those tools often shape larger decisions, so a short note about assumptions, formulas, and limitations can improve trust without slowing the page down too much.
The right balance is to keep the interface lightweight while placing context exactly where users need it. Too much explanation feels heavy, but too little can make important results harder to trust.
